Local VELUX staff spread Christmas cheer with gift donations to local care homes
Employees from local roof-window firm VELUX took a heartwarming approach to giving back to the community this year, by delivering over 100 gifts to care home residents in the Glenrothes & Kirkcaldy area ahead of Christmas.
Instead of holding an internal Secret Santa, the VELUX team decided to channel their festive spirit outwards, reaching out to local care homes and purchasing thoughtful gifts for their residents.
Staff donned their Santa hats and visited the Preston Hall (Woodside), West Park (Leslie), Marchmont (Kirkcaldy), and Fernlea (Cardenden) care homes.
This initiative reflects the company’s and staff’s commitment to supporting the local community and spreading joy where it’s needed most.
“We are incredibly proud of our team’s generosity and the positive impact it has made on people in our local community. Seeing the smiles on the faces of residents and staff truly made this initiative worthwhile.
“For most Christmas is a great time of coming together, but for many it can sometimes be a bit lonelier. We wanted to make sure that as many residents as possible had something to open on Christmas day”.
Lyndsay was joined in the ‘sleigh’ by team colleagues Karla Watt, Ross Paterson & Lisa Cairns as they visited the care homes to deliver the gifts donated by over one hundred staff.
