VELUX on Loft Conversion and Extensions Planning Committee Reforms in the UK
VELUX welcomes the UK Government’s proposed reforms to streamline planning decisions for smaller home improvements, including loft conversions and extensions, by removing the need for planning committee approval.
While some extensions do not require planning permission due to Permitted Development, those that do often require lengthy processes.
Simplifying and accelerating the approval process can give homeowners greater confidence to invest in improving their homes as their needs evolve. By reducing delays and increasing predictability, these changes have the potential to unlock more projects that improve living space, comfort and energy efficiency.
