Updated VELUX® CABRIO Balcony Adds Wow-Factor To Homes

As the UNESCO International Year of Light 2015 dawns, leading roof window manufacturer VELUX® is bringing even more daylight into the UK’s homes with the launch of its New Generation CABRIO Balcony, which transforms from a roof window into a balcony in seconds.

Triple glazing is now standard on the new CABRIO Balcony and the updated New Generation screwless, click-on covers have also been introduced, meaning an energy and time efficient installation is guaranteed. The CABRIO Balcony is also available in a new larger size, with an external frame size of 114cm by 252cm, providing more space for enjoying the outdoors, indoors.

The covers on the New Generation CABRIO are screwless, instead click-on covers are used, making installation even easier.

The upper section of the Balcony is Top-Hung and opens outwards, while the bottom section unfolds into a glazed balcony with side railings. The CABRIO Balcony can easily be combined with additional Top-Hung and fixed sloping windows to increase the amount of daylight entering a room, and to make the most of a view.

The CABRIO Balcony is made of high quality lacquered natural pine, with an easy-to-clean coating on the toughened outer pane, which keeps the glazing cleaner for longer. All glazing used has toughened outer and laminated inner panes for additional safety.

Builders, merchants and installers are encouraged to recommend the CABRIO Balcony to homeowners looking for a fuss-free way of opening up an attic conversion – or any other room – to gain additional usable floor space, daylight and fresh air.

Grant Sneddon, Product Manager, VELUX® GBI, said: “The CABRIO Balcony’s unique design is a great way to add value and real wow-factor to a property. The introduction of triple glazing as standard is in response to customers’ demand for energy-efficient products, and the new larger size means even more daylight and fresh air, even if you’re inside.”
